Magazine Cover.

I just finished creating my first magazine cover and it was maybe the best assignment I've had in my high school years. It was fun and I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop. I had heard of photo shopping pictures but never actually tried it. Although, when I did I succeeded. I chose to do an American Idol theme because I had the experience of going on an audition for American Idol over the summer. Next, I had the logo of the magazine I would create since I wanted to make my own. Finally, Adobe Photoshop helped very much with cropping, copying and pasting.
My magazine cover has one of my pictures from my actual audition as the background, which shows me holding a microphone while singing. Behind me there is a pink glow, which is from the original picture. The logo is on the top left corner and kind of slanted to the left. At the bottom in BIG pink letters I typed my headline: “’My dream came true, so can yours’ –Amy Morales-.” and under that in BIGGER yellow letters I typed 2010 American Idol. I also included in small turquoise letters a blurb about Jordin Sparks and a small picture of her.
I was trying to focus on one of my passions which is singing and also tell one of my experiences. To communicate my passion for singing I used a picture of me actually singing and to show my summer experience I put the logo of American Idol The Experience. The colors I chose for the letters match the image well so that’s why I chose them. I also gave Jordin Sparks a small spot-light because I love how she sings and really admire her. I chose that picture because my expression seems focused and enjoying what I’m doing.
I feel like my magazine cover is done compared to what I know how to do in Adobe Photoshop. The piece has six layers and they are each completed in detail. I am satisfied since it is my first time working with this program. For my next time I do want to try something more difficult to improve my skills in Photoshop.

Me.

I'm a 5'2", small town, Guatemalan girl. Talking about myself is a difficult task for me because it's hard to choose what people like, so I'm not going to think through it too much and just write my thoughts. First, I sure do wish I was horse back riding right now and not sitting here. I love chocolate, singing and silly drawings. My biggest pet peeve is people who chew gum like they're cows. I work hard for a tiny person who follows me everywhere I go, my little sister Jenny. I love her, adore her, treasure her in my heart like the most precious gift I've received from God. I enjoy playing soccer, softball and basketball. When I'm stressed out I like singing and drawing to distract my-self and relax. I love my spanish music specially: Bachata, merengue, and spanish romantics. My favorite dish is Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, I thank God very much for them.
